Information on personal data processing on bense.ai
This is a translation of the German master version. The controller is a German company; EU GDPR and German law (incl. TDDDG) apply.
This privacy policy describes which personal data we process when you use the bense.ai website, based on the actual technical setup of this site.
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies. Where information is stored on or accessed from your device, the German TDDDG (in particular § 25) may also apply.

The website is hosted by Variomedia AG (Germany). When you access the site, technically necessary connection data are processed (e.g. IP address, date/time, requested resource, user agent, referrer), typically in server log files.
Purpose: delivery and operation of the website, security, troubleshooting.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Recipients: Variomedia AG as hosting provider / processor.
Retention: according to the hoster’s deletion/rotation rules, unless longer retention is required for security.
No third-country transfer is intended for hosting in Germany.
Via the contact form you can send messages. We process the data you enter (first name, last name, email, optional company, subject, message) and technical meta data of the transmission.
Messages are delivered by email (SMTP via the hosting/Variomedia mailer, e.g. smtp.securehost.de). Data are not stored in a website database.
To reduce automated abuse, the server checks submissions locally (honeypot, CSRF token, timing plausibility, short-lived rate limiting). No external captcha or anti-spam services are used. For rate limiting, the connection IP is kept only as an HMAC hash with a short TTL in a temporary server file – no permanent visitor database.
Purpose: handling your request and communication; abuse protection.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) and/or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Retention: in email mailboxes as long as needed to handle and document correspondence; rate-limit hashes expire after the short window. Statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.
No newsletter system and no captcha are currently used.
Your display preference (light/dark mode) is stored in the browser via localStorage (key “theme”). The website does not set cookies and does not use PHP sessions for the contact form.
Purpose: remembering the display preference.
Legal basis: § 25(2) TDDDG (strictly necessary for the chosen display mode) with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
You can clear the setting in your browser (local storage).
The website does not use services for user-related reach measurement and does not set analytics or tracking cookies.
Neither Google Analytics, Matomo, Google Tag Manager nor Meta/LinkedIn pixels are used.
CSS, JavaScript and media of the public website are delivered locally from our own hosting. No content delivery networks (e.g. jsDelivr) and no Google Fonts are loaded.
No YouTube/Vimeo iframes, Google Maps or social plugins are embedded.
The public website does not send form data to external AI APIs.
Note: Some content pages may contain ordinary hyperlinks to external websites (e.g. project references). Such a link only causes a connection to the third party when you actively click it.
bense.ai currently has no user accounts, login, subscriptions or payment processing (in particular no Stripe). No “scan histories”, billing profiles or domain-scan data are collected via this website.
Personal data are shared only as needed for site operation or handling your request (hosting, email as above) or where required by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
Where no specific periods are stated above, we store personal data only as long as needed for the respective purposes and then delete or anonymise them, unless statutory retention applies.
Where legal requirements are met, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent (Arts. 15–21 GDPR).
